Learning Through Life, Life Through Learning

Written by Deborah M. Hodgetts

There are many areas that you can use to broaden and connect life with homeschooling. Why do we need to leave all of the homeschooling to an aligned curriculum?

Maybe it’s time to start creating change to learning and learning for life.

Life and learning connect and should not be treated as separate entities. This factor is more so if homeschooling is your educational modem for your family.

Learning through life and incorporating this into your homeschooling can build a basis for expanding your child’s educational growth potential. Connecting every aspect of life provides a rich resource for broadening your child’s skillset and enriching their knowledge base.

When life and learning are connected, it can create a platform that changes the potential for change and introduces excitement in the future.

Here are a few possible ideas to help you to support your child:

  • Create learning opportunities and connect with local businesses for activities to support learning.

  • Develop creativity, music, and connections with the broader world.

  • Encourage and engage with fun non-educational activities.

  • You are making expanding your child’s experience rich in color and positivity.

  • Introduce meditation, yoga, and well-being practices.

Lessons From Outside The Box

Learning does not need to revolve around a structured learning program. Many children learn and develop much quicker by being allowed to explore and learn through play. By allowing children to connect with life experiences, they can learn lessons outside of the box and a staid routine and learning mode. This may have been challenging during the current pandemic, and thinking outside of the box may have been curtailed. As the global picture starts to change again, we will begin to find favorable opportunities to engage with other people and prospects.

Capturing Imagination

Creating imaginative projects that you can do with your children could include learning about electricity and learn life skills, such as learning about Emergency AC Repair. However, this is something you may have to modify to ensure your child’s health and safety.

Innovative learning and connections are an excellent way to make a difference, ensuring that the way that works best for your child’s well-being and education is your priority.

You could add a new dimension to learning by introducing a digital interaction, use apps, digital programs, and connectivity with other child-friendly technologies.

The key is to be open to new approaches and strategies that open up to reveal successful connectivity.

Connecting With The Natural World

As the world starts to emerge from the current Coronavirus pandemic. It is uncertain how this will impact your child in their learning experience; however, you can create a stable structure by creating a planned approach that reflects your child’s potential.

Venture outside and connect with nature, link into learning center’s that teach about climate change and natural methods of living a sustainable life.

Allow your child to play in nature, make mud pies, learn about the elements, and help them form their natural connections; life learning is limitless.
